Online Courses

PBLWorks offers 8-week online courses to support teachers in becoming stronger project-based practitioners.  Online Courses work well for teachers who want a combination of self-paced learning and weekly online sessions. While the courses can be taken in any order, we recommend those new to PBL start with PBL Jumpstart: Design, followed by PBL Jumpstart: Teach.

Online Courses are offered to domestic partners in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

PBL Jumpstart: Design

Build your knowledge of the Gold Standard Essential Design Elements to become a stronger project designer. Learn more here. (formerly Adapting Your First Project)

PBL Jumpstart: Teach  

Build your knowledge of the Gold Standard Project Based Teaching Practices to become a stronger facilitator of Project Based Learning. Learn more here. (formerly Becoming a PBL Teacher) 

Cost: $399 per person

Open Online Workshops

Open Online Workshops are 1-day and 3-day full day workshops designed for individuals and/or small groups of educators who are interested in learning more about how to use Gold Standard PBL in their classrooms and schools. Open online workshops are $599 per person (3 days) and $200 per person (1 day). 

Open Online Workshops are offered to domestic partners in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

3-DAY WORKSHOP | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (time zones vary) 

PBL 101: An Introduction to Project Based Learning

This foundational three-day workshop in Project Based Learning—based on our model of Gold Standard PBL—is the best way to begin your PBL journey. In this workshop, you’ll plan a Gold Standard project for your students and learn equity-centered teaching practices to facilitate high-quality PBL. The PBL 101 workshop models the Project Based Learning process.
Cost: $599 per person

3-DAY WORKSHOP | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (time zones vary) 

PBL Coaching Workshop (Prerequisite: PBL 101 or equivalent)

Deepen your expertise as a PBL instructional coach or leader by engaging in this three day experience where you will create a PBL Coaching Toolkit to help you support teachers with implementation of  Gold Standard PBL.
Cost: $599 per person

 

3-DAY WORKSHOP | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Eastern Time)  

PBL Leadership Workshop

Dive in with your leadership team and learn how to grow the conditions needed for Gold Standard Project Based Learning to thrive in your system. In consideration of your current reality, you will design a customized strategy to launch or advance Project Based Learning in your unique setting.
Cost: $599 per person

1-DAY WORKSHOP | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Central Time)  

Social Emotional Learning in PBL

Reflect on ways in which Transformative SEL serves as a lever for equity by lifting up identity, agency, belonging, curiosity, and collaborative decision-making for students in Project Based Learning.
Cost: $200 per person
