Terms of Payment; Cancellation and Refunds; Substitutions
Payment options if the Registrant's billing address is in the United States:

  • Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for immediate registration online.
  • Purchase orders: registration orders totaling $800 or more may be placed via Purchase Order and will be invoiced by PBLWorks. If your registration order is less than $800, you must pay by credit card.
  • Purchase orders must be received within 30 days of the registration date, and invoices are due and payable no later than 30 days after the invoice date. For registrations submitted within 30 days of the Workshop start date, the purchase order must be received, and the invoice paid, before the Workshop start date. To set up PBLWorks as a vendor in your system, please download a copy of our W-9 form (pdf)
  • Unpaid registrations are subject to cancellation. Cancellation of a registration for non-payment does not relieve the Registrant of the obligation to pay any registration fees that are non-refundable under the cancellation and refund policy below.

Payment options if the Registrant's billing address is outside of the United States:

  • Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for immediate registration online.

Cancellation and refund policy:

  • Cancellations submitted at least 8 weeks before the Workshop start date will receive a 100% refund of registration fees less a $100 administrative fee per Registrant.
  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations submitted fewer than 8 weeks before the Workshop start date.
  • Cancellation does not relieve the Registrant of the obligation to pay any portion of the registration fees that is non-refundable under this policy, including for registrations made by purchase order that have not yet been paid.
  • A cancellation is “submitted” on the date and time PBLWorks receives the written request at [email protected]. Unless otherwise stated, all dates and deadlines in these Terms end at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the stated date.
  • Refunds will be issued in the same form as the original payment when possible.
  • To cancel a registration or request a refund, please email our Events team at [email protected].
PBLWorks does not award payment credit towards future services or events, except as PBLWorks may offer in its sole discretion.

Substitution Policy:

  • Registrants unable to attend the Workshop may send someone in their place (name swap). Registrant substitution requests must be made online through the registration portal no later than two weeks prior to the Workshop start date.
  • Workshop substitution requests (date swap) should be made in writing via email to [email protected]. Workshop substitution requests must be received no later than one week prior to the Workshop start date and the replacement Workshop must take place within the same calendar year. A registration that is not used for a Workshop taking place within that period expires without refund.
  • If a substitution changes the applicable registration fees, the Registrant will be charged or refunded the difference, subject to the cancellation and refund policy above.

Substitute Registrants must meet any prerequisite requirements stated in the applicable Workshop description and should be aware of any pre-work that was assigned by the Workshop facilitator. Substitute Registrants are bound by these Terms. Refunds will not be granted to Registrants who do not complete the pre-work and are thus unable to participate fully in a Workshop.

  4. Except for the Permitted Use, the Registrant agrees not to, and not to permit any third party to: (i) distribute, circulate, copy, cause to be copied, or otherwise replicate the Intellectual Property; (ii) record, film, photograph, screenshot, or make audio or video recordings or transcripts of any Workshop session, including by using any AI note-taking, transcription, or meeting-recording tool, without PBLWorks’ prior written consent (which shall not be unreasonably withheld); (iii) use the Intellectual Property to provide professional development, training, coaching, or consulting services to others, whether or not for a fee, or for any other commercial purpose; (iv) post, upload, or share the Intellectual Property on any website, social media, or file-sharing platform; (v) input the Intellectual Property into any artificial intelligence or machine learning tool or system for the purpose of training, fine-tuning, or developing that tool or system, or use the Intellectual Property to create competing materials; or (vi) remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
  5. PBLWorks’ names, logos, and trademarks, including PBLWorks and Gold Standard PBL, are the property of PBLWorks. Nothing in these Terms grants the Registrant any right to use them, except to accurately describe the Registrant’s participation in the Workshop.
  6. The Registrant acknowledges that a breach of Section 1  may cause PBLWorks irreparable harm for which monetary damages would be inadequate, and that PBLWorks shall be entitled to seek injunctive or other equitable relief, in addition to any other remedies available at law or in equity, without the necessity of posting a bond.

2. Consent to Use of Name, Image, Likeness and Voice

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, Workshops and related activities constitutes an agreement by the Registrant to allow PBLWorks, its affiliates and partners, and third-party organizations acting on PBLWorks’ behalf to capture, use, reproduce, edit and distribute (both now and in the future) the Registrant’s name, image, likeness or voice in photographs, video, screen captures, electronic reproductions, and/or audio recordings of such events and activities, in any media now known or later developed, for educational, promotional, marketing, and other purposes related to PBLWorks’ mission and programs.  PBLWorks may record Workshop sessions and Registrant waives any right to inspect or approve such materials and any right to compensation for their use, and releases PBLWorks and its agents from any claims arising from such use.  A Registrant who does not wish to appear in recordings or screen captures may keep their camera off, use initials as their display name, or notify the PBLWorks Events Team at [email protected] before the Workshop and PBLWorks will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request.

3. Participant Conduct

PBLWorks is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all participants. The Registrant agrees to comply with the instructions of PBLWorks and the Workshop facilitator regarding conduct during the Workshop and with the terms of use of any platform used to deliver the Workshop. 4. Privacy

PBLWorks collects and uses personal information provided in connection with registration and the Workshop in accordance with its Privacy Policy, available at https://www.pblworks.org/terms. Registration is processed through Cvent, and Workshops are delivered through third-party videoconferencing and collaboration platforms; the privacy terms of those third-party platforms may also apply.

5. Changes to or Cancellation of a Workshop

  1. PBLWorks reserves the right to change a Workshop’s schedule, facilitators, content, or delivery platform. Such changes do not entitle the Registrant to a refund except as provided in the cancellation and refund policy above.
  2. If PBLWorks cancels a Workshop, PBLWorks will refund the registration fees paid or, at the Registrant’s option, transfer the registration to another available Workshop. If PBLWorks reschedules a Workshop, the Registrant’s registration will transfer to the rescheduled dates, or the Registrant may request a refund within 30 days after PBLWorks gives notice of the change. The remedies in this section are the Registrant’s sole and exclusive remedies for any change to, rescheduling of, or cancellation of a Workshop. PBLWorks is not responsible for any other costs or expenses incurred by the Registrant.
  3. PBLWorks will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, severe weather, epidemics or pandemics, acts of government, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, or failure of utilities, internet service, communications networks, or third-party platforms.

Any terms and conditions contained in or referenced by a purchase order, vendor registration form, or other document issued by or on behalf of the Registrant that are additional to or inconsistent with these Terms are rejected and have no force or effect, unless expressly agreed in a writing signed by an authorized representative of PBLWorks.
