Schedule a call with your facilitator

Your facilitator will work with you to set up a time prior to your workshop to discuss your participants’ needs and any additional information that will help make the workshop as effective as possible. They will also provide the Participant Overview and important information regarding technical requirements for participants. During your conversation, please be sure to share:

  • Information about the teachers who will be in the training.  If you would like participants grouped in a particular way for their project development(e.g., in or across grade level or content area teams), please share that information as well.
  • Your direct contact information including cell phone and email.
  • The location where the workshop will take place.
  • Any timing constraints or requirements (firm up the start & end times of the workshop).

Prepare Required Materials and Workshop Location

*If workshop is on-site

Review the list of required workshop materials, including requirements for the space the workshop will take place in. Plan to talk through any questions or concerns with your facilitator.

Provide a Participant Roster

Your facilitator will need a participant roster a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of your service. The roster should include each participant’s name, email address, grade level, subject, and role. Click the button below to download an Excel file template. Once you complete the template, please email the roster directly to your National Faculty facilitator and talk through any questions or concerns.

Download Participant Roster Template

Please note: this roster will only be used to set up and facilitate participation during your workshop.

Share Technical Information with Your Team

Please review the Technical Requirements and share with your workshop participants in preparation for your service.

For online workshops hosted through Zoom, Participants MUST join online workshops from their own space (such as their classroom or home). They should NOT all be in the same room while the National Faculty facilitator joins/facilitates from Zoom. It’s important for every individual to be visible on Zoom; to interact with their own Nearpod; and to be able to join different breakout groups throughout the workshop.

Prepare your teachers or leaders

Your facilitator will share a  Participant Overview with you. Please share this with the teachers or leaders joining the workshop. Please also ensure that your participants will be able to meet the Technical Requirements and have them bring the following:

  • A journal or something to write on
  • Workshop specific preparation or pre-work mentioned in the Participant Overview. This could include content standards for your school or district,  a project idea or plan, artifacts from a recent project with students, or a completed pre-work template. Your facilitator will remind you what is needed for your particular workshop.
