Novato, CA (November 24, 2025) – The Buck Institute for Education (dba PBLWorks), a national provider of curriculum and professional development for high-quality Project Based Learning (PBL), will host its first PBL Institute of 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The PBL Institute Nevada will take place February 19-20, 2026 at The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school committed to Project Based Learning in the city’s Summerlin community.
PBLWorks, which also hosts a national PBL World conference every June in Napa Valley, designed its PBL Institutes to be smaller, more intimate events to support local educators who are early in their Project Based Learning journeys. The Institutes provide a focused, immersive learning experience in a local setting, enabling educators to network and strengthen relationships with others in their region.
The PBL Institute Nevada is geared toward K-12 educators, instructional coaches, and school leaders. Participants will hear from a spotlight speaker and attend their choice of expert-led workshops – including a new workshop introducing them to PBLWorks’ ready-to-use online PBL curriculum, TEACH™. Participants will also have opportunities to collaborate with regional peers, and will gain practical strategies they can apply right away.
“Our PBL Institutes are fantastic opportunities for educators who can’t attend PBL World or who are seeking more opportunities to collaborate on local PBL initiatives,” said PBLWorks CEO Bob Lenz. “We’re thrilled to bring the PBL Institute to Nevada to showcase what’s possible when educators commit to deeper learning for every student.”
Unique to the PBL Institute Nevada experience, attendees will engage in a PBL Gallery Walk hosted by The Alexander Dawson School. Participants will hear directly from Dawson teachers about how Project Based Learning drives deeper engagement and academic challenge on their campus. Attendees will see student work and learn how Dawson educators design meaningful projects. “At Dawson, we believe students learn best when they are challenged to think deeply, work collaboratively, and make meaningful connections to the world around them. Project Based Learning isn’t just an instructional strategy—it’s part of our culture. We’re excited to host the PBL Institute Nevada and showcase our work during the PBL Gallery Walk,” said Roxanne Stansbury, Head of School.
Registration for the PBL Institute Nevada is $800. To learn more and register, visit https://www.pblworks.org/pbl-institutes.
