Krystal Diaz

National Faculty – West

Dr. Krystal Diaz joined PBLWorks in 2014 as National Faculty, where she continues to deliver high-quality Project Based Learning professional development to schools and districts nationwide. She currently coaches teachers and administrators, supporting them in transforming educational systems through strategic implementation, reflective practice, and a shared commitment to equity, joy, and innovation.

With a career deeply rooted in serving urban educational settings, Krystal has held a diverse range of positions across charter, private, alternative, and public schools. Her experience in Southern California spans roles such as PBL classroom teacher, instructional coach, Career Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator, and School Climate Coordinator. These positions have included teaching, instructional coaching, and administrative leadership, allowing Krystal to develop a well-rounded approach to education. Across all these roles, she has earned a reputation as a leader who prioritizes students while also championing the professional growth of educators.

Krystal holds a Doctorate in Education, a BA in Sociology, two Master’s degrees in Secondary English Education and Professional Writing, and certifications in Literacy & Reading and Administrative Leadership. Her doctoral research focused on the power of inclusive practices to build equitable learning environments.

She’s also a proud mama of three. Her biggest wish for her kiddos is that they always have a teacher who encourages them to grow, challenge themselves, and become the best versions of who they’re meant to be.
