Teach Series: TEACH Sustained Support Visits

Workshop Description
This one-day workshop helps teachers improve their ability to implement PBLWorks TEACHTM project units effectively. Participants will build key knowledge and skills related to key Project Based Teaching practices, including building the culture, managing activities, engaging and coaching, scaffolding, and assessing student learning in a PBL Classroom. Teachers will reflect on project successes and challenges and develop actionable next steps to strengthen project implementation.
Who should take this workshop?
The TEACH Essential workshops are available for Middle School (Grades 6-8) educators who previously attended a TEACH Essentials or TEACH Deep Dive Workshop
Workshop Outcomes
• Engage in collaborative reflection and analysis to strengthen PBL practice.
• Foster greater student ownership and learning throughout a project.
• Refine plans and prepare for continued PBL unit implementation

Focus Area Options
Before your workshop, you and your facilitator will select one of the following focus areas for your workshop:
- Rubrics and Shared Power. Learn about the power of using rubrics to clarify expectations, increase student ownership of the learning process, and improve the quality of student work.
- Sustained Inquiry. Learn how to strengthen and support sustained inquiry so that it is student-driven, iterative, and extends throughout a project.
What to Expect
Plan for a highly interactive time together! Facilitated by one of our expert National Faculty, the workshop includes a balanced blend of direct instruction, video analysis, hands-on work, resource sharing, peer collaboration, and feedback. There will be activities that get participants out of their seats, opportunities to have fun with other participants, and independent time to work on project planning. Each day is 6 hours with an additional 1 hour for lunch.
