Dr. Jason Glass

Kentucky Department of Education
Dr. Glass is a native Kentuckian and third-generation educator. He has been Commissioner of Education since September 2020. Previously, he was the Superintendent and Chief Learner in Eagle County Schools (2013–2017) and Jeffco Public Schools (2017–2020) in Colorado. Dr. Glass is pioneering a shift to deeper learning in Kentucky and is committed to supporting teachers as they find new ways to help their students engage more deeply and creatively. He believes that deeper learning experiences truly prepares students for the complex, globally interconnected and fast-moving future ahead. Dr. Glass has a vision that inspires all students to become lead learners. This vision calls for vibrant learning experiences for every student, innovation in schools and collaboration with our communities.
