Jason Gay
Jason Gay has spent nearly two decades in education with one consistent conviction: the learning has to belong to the student. As a Digital Learning Coach and National Faculty member with PBLWorks, Jason works at the intersection of Project Based Learning, instructional coaching, and AI integration, building the case that Gold Standard PBL is precisely what keeps deep, student centered learning alive when AI is in the room.
In his current role as Digital Learning Coach, Jason partners with teachers and school leaders to design rigorous, inquiry driven projects that engage all students in meaningful work. He specializes in coaching educators to integrate technology with intention, ensuring AI serves as a tool for deeper thinking rather than a shortcut around it. That work is grounded in action research he conducted as part of Cohort 1 of the GenerationAI Community of Practice, convened by ISTE+ASCD.
Jason believes that every student deserves access to high quality Project Based Learning. When students are challenged to investigate real problems, think critically, and present their work to authentic audiences, expectations rise and so does student agency. That is the standard he brings to every workshop and coaching relationship he facilitates.
A nationally recognized presenter, Jason has spoken at ISTE, FETC, AASL, and KYSTE, and is a recipient of the KDE Stillwell Award. He holds an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.
