Self-paced ISTE U course helps teachers integrate technology into Gold Standard Project Based Learning

Novato, CA (Sept. 28, 2020) – PBLWorks, the leading provider of professional development for high-quality Project Based Learning (PBL), has partnered with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) to create a new self-paced ISTE U course, “Leading Project-Based Learning with Technology” to help teachers build their capacity to implement Gold Standard PBL with technology tools.

The course is for teachers and instructional staff who are familiar with technology and are looking for an entry point into PBL, or those who are interested in learning more about both PBL and technology integration. It challenges participants to respond to the driving question, “How can I maximize the benefits of Project-Based Learning by effectively integrating digital tools?”

“Leading Project-Based Learning with Technology” is a 5-hour, self-paced course. It costs $49 for ISTE members and $65 for non-members.

“Teachers and students are using technology more than ever and this course provides an opportunity for teachers to learn more about how to integrate it with Project Based Learning to engage and empower students,” said Rich Dixon, Director of Online Learning for PBLWorks. “We’re pleased to be able to partner with ISTE to develop this course and provide another PBL resource for teachers and instructional staff.”

“With educators returning to the classroom, whether in-person or online, there is tremendous demand for professional learning opportunities on how to effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning,” said Liz Lee, Director of Online Learning for ISTE. “We are excited to partner with PBLWorks to provide a course to teachers and instructional staff to integrate Project Based Learning with technology.”

Participants in the course learn how to select the best technology and online resources to enhance PBL projects that address real-world problems and support deeper learning. They build a toolkit of digital resources to support student learning goals and facilitate project management at each stage of the project.
