Krystal Diaz

National Faculty – West

Krystal joined PBLWorks in 2014 as National Faculty, delivering high quality PBL professional development to schools and districts. She coaches leaders and teachers to transform educational institutions. She is committed to providing all students with an equitable education, especially those furthest from opportunity. Krystal believes in the power of the educator and will stand with districts to leverage their capacity through joy, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality and equity.

Krystal has deep experience working in urban educational settings — spanning from charter, private, alternative, and public institutions — including serving as a PBL classroom teacher, an instructional coach, and a district Linked Learning Coordinator where she supported the launch and implementation of Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways. She holds a strong reputation as a champion for all students and believes that we can do more to create student-centered classrooms that develop student agency and purpose. Krystal currently serves as a Coordinator of School Climate for Santa Ana Unified.

She holds a BA in Sociology, two MA degrees in Secondary English Education and Professional Writing, and certification in both Literacy & Reading and Administrative Leadership. Krystal is currently working toward a doctorate where she is researching the power of inclusive practices.

Krystal is the mother of three kiddos. Her hope for them is that they always get the teacher that lovingly pushes them to be the best version of themselves.
