Rich leads the organization's online learning initiatives including developing new products and services. He works closely with strategy implementation and supporting educators as they facilitate high quality & equitable access for all students.
Before joining PBLWorks, Rich co-founded and served as the VP of Professional Learning Services at PD Learning Network where he created and oversaw the development of an online professional development solution for K12 educators.
He is passionate about applying his 25 years as a teacher, administrator, staff developer, IT director, and curriculum coordinator to professional development in order to promote personalized learning that address equity issues. He is a national speaker who has presented on a wide range of emerging educational technology topics, including digital badges and micro-credentials, technology enhanced pedagogy. Additionally, Rich recently served as a lecturer within the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at UC Santa Barbara and helps develop leadership capacity for cabinet level school district administrators as a faculty member of the Education Innovation Alliance.
Rich earned his B.A. in elementary education from Westmont College and holds a M.A. in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages from Seattle Pacific University.
